Poem: He Holds Doubt

He Holds Doubt

as a doll, as comfort:
to trust, to take a leap,
to choose commitment
is never a choice
to be considered,
is invisible.  He speaks
of wanting a path,
mentions repairing,
growing, making better,
but none can come
if he will not choose
to go towards them,
to make them what must be
and be resolved,
but he prefers doubting,
prefers the comfort
of trusting his doubt
over his own potential.
