Poem: Your Words Are Not Enough

Your Words Are Not Enough

You will say
you understand
now, but
only because
it is too late,
because you have
what you want,
have taken it,
have changed things
so it must be this way,
and now you say
you understand,
now that it is too late
to return
to what was.
It is already done,
and now
you want to know
it is alright,
that I forgive you,
because you understand,
now that it is too late,
I must know
you understand.
