Poem: I Cannot Remember The Beginning Any Longer

I Cannot Remember The Beginning Any Longer

Who is the one
that started it all,

me or you?  Was it
a word or a look,

or just a stench
in the air,

easy to blame
one another for that.

Whatever it was,
it started all the trouble,

and now, it is a mess,
and you and I

should know better.
I should know better,

but that seems now to mean
not trusting you.
