Poem: More Than Nothing

More Than Nothing

I have done a bit.  Not all of it,
but a bit.  Just a little.  It is fine
to be slow, isn't it?  I am taking time,
attempting to get it right,
it is nothing else.  I would say
if it were anything else,
if I were afraid, or failing,
or afraid of failing.  Why
would I be?  I am careful,
but that is all.  Yes,
it is fine.  I will do more,
but not now.  What I did
will be enough for now,
it is not as if anyone cares
or is waiting.  No,
it is fine.  I can be slow,
if I do not finish
no one will care,
and I do not want
to get it wrong.
