Poem: Understand Your Bargains

Understand Your Bargains

We did come here
by choice.  It was chosen
to join this, to be a part,
to sit here at this table
and eat this food,
and to share in the work
that this place does,
to do it the way
it is done here,
and that was chosen,
was what we decided
would be best,
and it is better,
is the better option
than what had been,
out there, with nothing,
with no one who wants
to give or share,
who thinks what is offered
is ever enough
to earn more
than too little,
that is what was
out there, and it is better,
is not quite that way here,
it is another way,
where there is just enough
if things are done
in the way others want,
if we do not try
to be who we are,
than we can have
just enough.
