Poem: I Wonder If You Have Read It Yet

I Wonder If You Have Read It Yet

I did not ask
if it was done
because I know
you will be upset,
will complain
at being rushed,
but you were the one
who offered,
who suggested
I send it to you,
and now, a week later,
I do not know
if you have looked,
or if you forget
it is there,
but I know
I cannot ask,
will be told
you did not look
because you do not like
to be rushed,
though I say nothing,
you will tell me
you know I am waiting,
and that is enough
to make me the one
responsible for the delay.
