Poem: Mental Shift

Mental Shift

It was a moment
moving from that
to this, but it was
a shift the mind
could only make
that fast, thoug
it was big.  It was
like leaping a stream,
running up to the bank
and soaring.  Any slower
could never have worked,
but it still meant
a hard landing
and a few moments
to catch the breath.
