Poem: There Is A Snake in The Pool This Morning

There Is A Snake in The Pool This Morning

See it, there, head
above the water?

I do not know if it
can make it out alone,

but it does not trust my net
is there to free it.

I cannot catch it, though,
must wait to see

if it will find a way up
the smooth tile wall.

If only it understood
that I want to help.
