Poem: There is a need for proof

There is a need for proof

that it is real
as a possibility
in my life,
that the effort is worthwhile
and not just a waste.
It is no good to continue,
to keep working and hoping,
not unless it can be.
It is no good to say
it can happen.
I need to know
if it is possible
for me.
